Why the Name LIKWID?

Today “Likwid Marketing” was previously known in 2002 as “Modern Middle East Marketing Services” (MMEMS). When MMEMS was initiated, it was one of the few agencies available to deliver unique end-to-end marketing solutions for events. We serviced a wide array of brands across the GCC and parts of Asia.  
The name “MMEMS” was derived from the true functionality we provided, back then when it was relevant. 
Today’s “Likwid” had no specific narrative or creative approach so I decided to consult the family creative Doctor Mohammed Malki accompanied by my eldest brother Khalid Malki @Starbucks corniche intersecting with sari street. The challenge or brief to name the company was put into the brain blender. 
30 minutes into this relaxed brainstorming session, Mohammed asked a simple question; 
What is it that makes you or your company so different? 
My answer; flexibility to design proper journeys (Today’s term experiences) for multiple brands and our whole team has switched from client to supplier. 
To make the long story short we took five elements into our discussion to devise the name: spelling with a twist, meaning, pronunciation, memorable and Catchy. 
The outcome: 
We achieved 3 of five elements pronunciation, memorable and catchy 
Although it has been in front of our eyes for many years and we never saw it, the way we operate in this complex dynamic growing market and what is truly already reflected in our company’s name “LIKWID” a matter that takes all forms and that is truly how we operate.
